WaterSound Origins will be the starting point of a new, 5 mile nature trail.
South Walton County is home to some of the most beautiful National Forrest in the area. Miles and miles of hiking/walking trails wind through Pine and Oak trees, beautiful dunes, coastal lakes, and give views of the Gulf that no one else can see. A new addition has been added to the plethora of trails already available, this time on the north side of Highway 98 at WaterSound Origins.
The new trail will be groomed, and feature mile markers, educational signage, and a rest area at the mid point. This new trail will also join up with the 13 mile “Gayle’s Trail” system out of Panama City. Plans are to eventually expand this trail system up to 30 miles.
Whether you are visiting the area, or a local who has not yet had the chance to explore the beautiful nature that surrounds us here in South Walton, we recommend you make use of this gorgeous fall weather and explore some of the nature trails easily accessible in Grayton Beach, Tops’l State Park and Santa Rosa Beach.
