Is one of your New Year’s Resolutions to get more healthy or to be more active? Maybe signing up for the Seaside School Half Marathon will help light that fire.
30A is such a scenic road, it is no wonder that people love to run/jog/walk along it. The area is home to several very popular races, but possibly the most popular is the Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K. Not only does this raise money for one of the area’s schools, it is also super fun!
The race is March 1st starting at 7:00 AM. That gives you two full months to get training and burn off all of those holiday cookies and turkeys. The course is fairly flat and fast, with the race beginning and ending in downtown Seaside. The course will take you winding through the neighborhoods of WaterColor, Grayton Beach, Blue Mountain Beach, and Santa Rosa Beach. This is a USATF certified race, and there will be plenty of volunteers and emergency personnel along the course to cheer you on as well as keep you safe.
There are several fun events leading up to the race as well. On February 27th there is a pre-race party at the Seaside School. It will feature door prizes, food, drinks, and music. On February 28th there will be an Expo at the Seaside Lyceum from Noon till 6:00 PM. Vendors will be offering a wide selection of apparel, equipment and such to outfit yourself for the race.
As mentioned before, this race is very popular and fills to capacity very quickly. Be sure to register as soon as possible to make sure you will be among the 3,000 runners to compete in this event. Click HERE to go to their website and register right away! There is NO race day registration, you MUST pre-register.
